Michael Woodford joined ABA in 2012 as a Director having previously worked for the office as an associate between 2003-2008 when he was project architect for the award winning Newhall, Herringbone Houses and played a key role as design architect on many other projects and competition winning schemes including Accordia and Folkestone Quarterhouse. Michael is currently the Project Director for our £19m Higher Education building for Exeter College.
He has experience of working in a number of award winning practices including Concrete and Mecanoo in the Netherlands and FCB Studios in Bath where he was responsible for the £55m Manchester Metropolitan University Business School and Student Hub, the £15m Tudor Grange Academy Worcester and £15m Aston University Engineering Academy.
In 2010-2012 Michael moved to the Netherlands to become project leader for the international design hotel chain Citizen M, this complements his experience in residential and performing arts architecture gained as an associate at ABA.
Michael offers expertise in the design and delivery of very high quality institutional buildings, arts projects, schools and colleges, residential and master planning, hotels and hospitality and one off house design.
